The United Palace became an Art Sanctuary on August 13!

A half-ton pile of dirt on the theatre’s stage was transformed with locally foraged natural materials into a work of impermanent nature art
by internationally renowned artist, author & educator Day Schildkret.

Moment 1:

What are you leaving behind?

Is there something you are ready to let go of? A fear or worry? A regret? A grudge? An old story? Write it down & leave it behind. Then feel lighter as you move into your day, open to the possibility of transformation.

Moment 2:

Relax. Replenish. Be with what is.

Find a seat. Rest your mind & body. Contemplate. Meditate. Take it all in. Put on your favorite soothing music or simply open a window & let the sounds of nature fill your ears. Slow down & just breathe.

Step into inspiration.

Take a closer look at the artist’s creative process on livestream. Get inspired by the patterns, beauty & ideas that are flowing through him. Watch each natural material transform into a new work of art for now, just for this moment.

Moment 4:

Express yourself.

Could you feel the inspiration? Allow that feeling to flow through you & create your own mini altar. Is this altar an offering to someone or something? Is it an expression of love, loss or gratitude? Create from the heart. Let your imagination play.

Create meaning.

Listen & learn about the Morning Altars process with insights directly from the artist. Watch us on stage as we infuse this moment with meaning and magic in a closing ritual. Feel the presence of the great mystery. Do you feel differently than when you tuned in today? Thank you for going on this journey with us all!

Come for a quick visit or stay awhile & participate in the following activities:
– Immerse yourself in the healing energy of nature, art, ritual while Day creates an altar on stage.
-Soak in the contemplative space with live music & allow yourself to slow down.
– Be inspired o build your own mini altar on the floor of the theatre with flowers, leaves & various items from nature that will be provided at the event.
-Watch, listen, contemplate, meditate & just be with what is.

6:00-7:00pm Morning Altars as Muse
– Talkback with Day Schildkret
– All are welcome to join us on stage for a closing ritual.

The Art Sanctuary is the first public event offered by The Muse, the United Palace of Spiritual Arts’ new monthly program celebrating inspiration, the arts & community and challenging participants to reimagine what’s possible in art & in life. The daylong event will culminate with “Morning Altars as Muse,” including a talkback with Schildkret & a group ritual where all will be invited to join the artist on stage.
